he present project is the creation of the “honey sector” rules for Altos Pirineos brand. It is carry out by ADECURA, a rural development association of the Jacetania region y the Alto Gállego, in Huesca province. First of all, I had to make contact with professional and amateur beekeepers in order to create a beekeepers list non-existent until the date. Laterduring the information meetings, beekeepers had interviews in order to determine the sector situation. Altogether, 18 beekeepers were localized and 10 of them showed interest in knowing more about the project. Precious information were obtained, for example, just 3 were professional beekeepers and the 100% combine the beekeeping with other agricultural activity. The hives number varies between 3 and 200 and only 4 beekeepers make the transhumance. The productions are often slim with an average maximum of 9 kilos, which makes the beekeepers directly selling the product at home. The second survey revealed that there is a huge sector crisis thust here are less beekeepers due to winter death. Other difficulty that found by the beekeepers is the ground procurement to make the transhumance due to the population rejection to have closely hives. The honey price marked and low productions do that the profession is not very profitable. At the beginning, there were a bit reluctance regarding the hour to be interested in the brand, but finally, 7 beekeepers were interested. 3 of them had been selected to cooperating in the brand rules development. For that, the European regulation was taken as the reference as well as the “Aragon agricultural good practices notebook”.
