This research and artistic creation project has explored and analysed the transformation of love and desire into horror within audiovisual art. Here, horror is not understood as a genre; rather, through the aesthetics and emotional significance of the works, love is portrayed as a sublime and obsessive force, capable of adding beauty to a destructive act. It consists of three stages. Firstly, research was conducted into the evolution of the most common narrative figures in literature and art, highlighting the importance of dark romanticism and the complexity of the genre’s best-known characters. Subsequently, a series of film and television productions were analysed in which both the themes and aesthetics stand out for their relevance to contemporary popular culture and for possessing a visual identity that serves as the basis for the development of the personal artistic project. Finally, the production process of three illustrations was presented, which will be linked by a narrative thread.es_ES
