Introduction: Physical inactivity and sedentary behavior are associated with premature mortality and the development of chronic diseases, generating a substantial economic and healthcare burden for the health system. Preventing these conditions represents a particularly relevant challenge in primary care, where, despite the available evidence, professional advice and the provision of group-based physical activity sessions show limitations in their effectiveness and long-term sustainability. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a group-based intervention incorporating a social determinants of health approach and linked to community health assets, on adherence to physical activity, perceived social support, and satisfaction with the activity among inactive individuals, compared to participation in traditional group interventions limited to supervised group physical activity. Design and methodology: To this end, a randomized clinical trial is proposed, involving 14 municipalities, with follow-up at 6, 12, and 18 months post-intervention. Adult patients who do not meet the WHO physical activity recommendations will be included, with an estimated sample size of 210 participants. The main variables of this study will be the level of physical activity and perceived social support at the end of the intervention and during follow-up, which will be measured using self-administered questionnaires. Satisfaction with the intervention will also be assessed at the end through a self-administered questionnaire and a focus group. The analysis will be performed using mean comparisons and multivariate regression models. Results: This study aims to determine the feasibility of incorporating a social determinants of health approach into group interventions, as well as the connection and integration with the community through the use of health assets, and the effect of this approach on the effectiveness and sustainability of these interventions.es_ES
