Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) is defined as a grief response characterized by intense and persistent symptoms that cause significant functional impairment across different areas of an individual's life. The aim of the present review was to synthesize the empirical evidence available in systematic reviews and meta-analyses regarding the effectiveness of treatments for PGD. A literature search was conducted in the PubMed, PsycINFO, Web of Science, and PSICODOC databases, resulting in the inclusion of 29 reviews. The findings indicate that psychological interventions, particularly those based on cognitive-behavioral therapy, are effective in reducing PGD symptoms as well as associated comorbid symptoms, including depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. Furthermore, online interventions and other therapeutic approaches, such as mindfulness-based therapies, show promising results due to their accessibility and therapeutic potential. However, given that the evidence in this field remains heterogeneous and limited, further research is needed to establish more definitive conclusions.es_ES
