| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Eating disorders represent one of the main challenges in current public health. Their development is influenced by numerous factors, including body image, which is now amplified by social media and digital trends such as mukbang, a phenomenon characterized by the consumption of large amounts of food in front of a camera. Objective: To analyze the influence of mukbang watching on eating behavior in young adults aged 18 to 30 years, specifically exploring eating behavior, loneliness, emotional regulation, and general health, comparing responses between mukbang consumers and non-consumers. Method: The sample consisted of 135 participants (75.56% women; M = 23,6 years; SD = 2,92). Results: A total of 46,7% of the sample reported consuming mukbang content. Statistically significant differences (p < .05) were found in general loneliness and lack of emotional clarity, with higher scores observed in the mukbang consumer group. Emotional eating was also significant, although in the opposite direction than expected, as the non-consumer group obtained higher scores. Discussion: Watching mukbang appears to have a greater impact on social and emotional aspects than a direct influence on eating behavior. However, further research is needed in this emerging field. | es_ES |
