dc.description.abstractLa diabetes mellitus tipo 2 es una de las patologías más prevalentes a nivel mundial, siendo el grupo poblacional mayor de 65 años uno de los más afectados; por ello, constituye uno de los problemas de salud pública más relevantes en atención primaria. Actualmente, el uso de nuevas tecnologías ha supuesto un cambio en el abordaje de la salud, aunque su implementación en este grupo etario enfrenta barreras y limitaciones. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la percepción de los pacientes adultos mayores con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 en relación al empleo de las nuevas tecnologías como opciones de seguimiento y manejo de su patología. Se propone un estudio cualitativo de tipo descriptivo-exploratorio, a realizar en 3 centros de salud urbanos y 2 rurales. Se incluirán pacientes mayores de 65 años con diagnóstico de diabetes mellitus tipo 2 que reciban asistencia sanitaria por parte de enfermería de atención primaria. Se planteará desarrollar 20-25 entrevistas y dos grupos focales. El fenómeno de estudio será la percepción de las personas mayores de 65 años con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 sobre el uso de nuevas tecnologías en el seguimiento y manejo de su enfermedad. Se explorarán dimensiones como la utilidad percibida, las barreras de uso, la accesibilidad, la confianza, la autonomía y las emociones asociadas al uso de herramientas digitales. Este estudio permitirá conocer si los dispositivos digitales son una estrategia de abordaje de diabetes mellitus tipo 2 atendiendo a la percepción de estos pacientes.es_ES
dc.description.abstractType 2 diabetes mellitus is one of the most prevalent illness worldwide, with the population over 65 years of age being one of the most affected; therefore, it constitutes one of the most relevant public health problems in primary care. Currently, the use of the new technologies has brought a change in the approach to healthcare, although its implementation in this group of age faces barriers and limitations. The objective of this study is to analize the perception of older adults patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus regarding the use of new technologies as options for the monitoring and management of their illness. A qualitative study of a descriptive-exploratory type is proposed, to be conducted in 3 urban and 2 rural primary care centers. Patients over 65 years of age with diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus who received health assistance by primary care nursing will be included. It is planned to carry out 20-25 interviews and two focus groups. The phenomenon of study will be the perception of people over 65 years of age with type 2 diabetes mellitus regarding the use of new technologies in the monitoring and management of their disease. Dimensions such as perceived usefullness, barriers of use, accesibility, trust, autonomy, and emotions associated with the use of digital tools will be explored. This study will provide us to know if digital devices are a valiable strategy for attending type 2 diabetes mellitus based on the perception of these patients.es_ES
