Introduction: Sleep disorders during pregnancy are common and have been linked to increased anxiety and depressive symptoms, potentially impacting prenatal mental health. Several studies have described an association between sleep quality and psychological well-being during pregnancy; however, the available evidence on the possible role of parity as a modifying factor in this relationship remains limited. Objective: To analyze the association between sleep quality and the presence of depressive and anxiety symptoms in pregnant women in their second and third trimesters, and to explore possible differences according to parity. Methodology: An observational, cross-sectional, and analytical study is proposed in pregnant women in their second and third trimesters attending prenatal primary care clinics. A consecutive non-probability sampling method will be used, including all pregnant women who meet the selection criteria during the study period. Sleep quality will be assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), depressive symptoms using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), and anxiety using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Potentially confounding sociodemographic, clinical, and obstetric variables will also be collected. Descriptive, bivariate, and multivariate analyses will be performed using adjusted statistical models. Conclusion: An association between poorer sleep quality and greater anxiety and depressive symptoms is expected to be identified, as well as possible differences between primiparous and multiparous women. The results could contribute to reinforcing the importance of incorporating the systematic assessment of sleep and mental health into prenatal care provided by midwives, promoting early detection strategies and interventions tailored to specific risk profiles.es_ES
