Abstract

En un mundo en el que el patriarcado ya no necesita cadenas ni leyes para controlar a las mujeres (sus mecanismos de poder se han vuelto más sutiles, más simbólicos) vivimos en una era de apariencia de igualdad, donde mucha gente cree que el feminismo ya no es necesario. Para cuestionar esa falsa idea existe Fuera de(L) Juego, un podcast que evidencia que, la dirección masculina prioriza a los hombres y mientras la cúspide del mundo deportivo la gobierne solo el sexo masculino, la equidad seguirá siendo una meta lejana. Ya sea en federaciones deportivas, instituciones o puestos de trabajo deportivo. Por no hablar de otras áreas. Este trabajo no solo recoge testimonios, plantea una mirada crítica y urgente sobre estructuras patriarcales que atraviesan el ejercicio profesional de las mujeres periodistas deportivas. Mediante entrevistas a figuras destacadas del sector, se abordan cuestiones como la constante sexualización de la imagen femenina, la deslegitimación del criterio profesional, la imposición de filtros estéticos y las dificultades de acceso a posiciones de liderazgo. El proyecto organiza así un discurso que no solo visibiliza las barreras existentes, sino que también plantea la necesidad de repensar el periodismo deportivo desde una perspectiva humana, feminista, inclusiva y vanguardista. Fuera de(L) Juego nace del miedo a dar el primer paso, del desconsuelo de sentirse menos por ser mujer, del desasosiego a causa de críticas en redes sociales, de la incomodidad de trabajar en un mundo machista, del miedo paralizante a la mirada de los que no te quieren en su terreno y del anhelo de querer ser periodista deportiva.

In a world where patriarchy no longer needs chains or laws to control women (where its mechanisms of power have become more subtle, more symbolic) we live in an era of apparent equality, in which many believe that feminism is no longer necessary. To challenge this false perception, Off The Side emerges as a podcast that reveals how male leadership continues to prioritize men, and how, as long as the top tiers of the sports world remain governed exclusively by men, gender equity will remain a distant goal. Whether in sports federations, institutions, or media positions, inequality persists, and not just in these spaces. This project goes beyond simply gathering testimonies: it offers a critical and urgent lens on the patriarchal structures that shape the professional experience of women in sports journalism. Through interviews with prominent figures in the field, it explores issues such as the persistent sexualization of women’s appearances, the delegitimization of their professional judgment, the imposition of aesthetic filters, and the systemic obstacles to accessing leadership roles. The podcast thus constructs a discourse that not only sheds light on the barriers women face, but also calls for a reimagining of sports journalism through a human, feminist, inclusive, and forward-thinking perspective. Off The Side is born from the fear of taking the first step, from the heartbreak of feeling lesser for being a woman, from the unease provoked by social media criticism, from the discomfort of working in a male-dominated world, from the paralyzing fear of those who don’t want you in their space, and from the deep longing to become a sports journalist.
