Cantabria is a uniprovincial autonomous community, one of the smallest in Spain. Traditionally, the population was dispersed throughout the territory, but in recent decades there has been a greater population concentration around certain tourist towns in the coastal area and others grouped around the traditional headwaters of the judicial parties, among others: Potes, Reinosa, Torrelavega and Cabezón de la Sal. To this we must add the adverse physical geographical peculiarities of the territory itself, which has facilitated internal population movements. In this geographical and social context, we ask ourselves different questions: Where are immigrants located? What nationalities do they have? What evolution has occurred?; We also want to see how the population of the various municipalities has increased in the last fifteen years and the characteristics of these changes. And at the same time, we ask ourselves, in relation to religious minorities, where are religious minorities located in the territory? Do these coincide with the location of immigrants? Were there religious minorities before the arrival of foreign immigration? And the main question for us now: What relationship is there between immigration and religion in Cantabria? These are some of the questions that we will answer in this article
