Burnout Syndrome is currently one of the main work-related illnesses due to persistent psychoso-
cial stressors in work organizations. The aim of this study was to identify the predictive power of the
Emotional Work, Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Conflicts dimensions for the Burnout Syndrome
dimensions. The sample consisted of 244 workers who held leadership positions. The instruments used
were the Cuestionario para la Evaluación del Syndrome de Quemarse por el Trabajo, Conflict subscales,
two Emotional Work Subscales: Emotional Demands and Emotional Dissonance; Emotional Intelligen-
ce Measure; and a socio-demographic and work-related questionnaire. The results, obtained through
Multiple Regression Analysis, identified Emotional Dissonance, Emotional Demands, Self-motivation
and Sociability as predictive variables for the dimensions of Burnout Syndrome. Thus, attention is sug-
gested to the emotional aspects involved at work as a way of preventing Burnout Syndrome.
