The pregnancy and postpartum period, despite being considered a positive period in society, can lead to psychological challenges for many women. The scientific literature has shown that perceived social support has beneficial effects on health, including emotional support, informal support, and instrumental support. The aim of this study was to measure women’s emotional regulation in relation to social support. The sample consisted of 1058 women with an age range between 20 and 45 years (M = 34 dt = 4.06), who had become mothers in the last year. The participants were asked about their socio-educational level, age and employment status and other clinical variables, such as whether it was their first birth, or if there were complications during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as the age of their babies, whether it was younger than 6 months or 6 months up to one year, as well as whether pregnancy was sought or not. The Perceived Social Support Scale (EASP), the anxiety and depression of the participants, through the Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD), as well as their emotional intelligence through the scale (TMMS-24) and the general self-efficacy scale (EAG Scale) have also been evaluated. The results showed that, during the postpartum period, the social support received by mothers, partners, fathers, as well as other social providers, is related to emotional and emotional management variables. These results will provide a better understanding of the emotional state and perceived self-efficacy of mothers during the postpartum period, based on their social support network.
