Since the advent of the digital era, changes in society have not ceased. This may be the main reason why, at times, institutions are unable to keep pace. After an exhaustive bibliographic review, it is clear that these difficulties are present in the educational system and, specifically, in art education, where the representation of digital art is anecdotal. However, is this a problem related exclusively to the incorporation of technology? In general, the appearance of contemporary art in the secondary school curriculum is limited. Throughout this period, students are instructed in traditional artistic techniques, but they finish their training without being able to understand the art world. As a result, the students rejection of any art form that does not reflect reality in a recognizable way or does not demonstrate manual skill is manifested. Their inability to recognize the expressive value of art is therefore present. This deficiency can be enhanced when technology is involved in the process, since there is a tendency to give importance to the improvement of technical skills, obviating the previous phase of development of the idea. But, without an artistic idea, the means, no matter how advanced they are or how well the artist masters them, are worthless. In order to provide solutions, a learning situation has been developed that integrates digital art in the classroom through meaningful learning.
