Sexuality, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), covers aspects such as sex,
gender identities, pleasure, intimacy and sexual orientation. To manage people's sexuality
responsibly, adequate Affective-Sexual Education must be carried out. In the case of people
with functional diversity, this education is really important to address from the childhood
period, since we find various factors or needs that are affected in this type of population. In
addition, addressing this aspect is appropriate to work on from Occupational Therapy, since it
is an Activity of Daily Living (ADL) recognized by the Occupational Therapy Practice
Framework from AOTA. Accordingly, the main objective of the proposed program is to
facilitate, through Occupational Therapy, the access of students with functional diversity to
Affective-Sexual Education through information and activities adapted to their needs. The
following intervention is aimed at students between 6 and 16 years old in educational centers
in the province of Alicante. Therefore, five sessions are planned with different activities and
workshops on Affective-Sexual Education.
