The brachial obstetric palsy (PBO), which causes loss of voluntary mobility, is one of the
complications that can arise during childbirth, with an incidence of 1.5-2 per 1000 births in
Spain between 2017 and 2020. Treatment for PBO includes surgical options followed by
rehabilitation. The use of technological devices, such as robotics and tablets, has been shown
to be effective in improving functional recovery and manual dexterity in affected children and
adolescents. The patient suffers from left Erb-Duchenne PBO. During the intervention,
activities with new technologies were carried out, using the Wii, the Makey Makey, and tablet
applications. The focus on new technologies and the combination with outdoor activities were
key to maintaining the patient's motivation and fostering their commitment to the rehabilitation
process. Although the use of these technologies requires additional resources, the benefits in patient motivation and commitment suggest that their incorporation into future interventions
would be advisable.
