Introduction: Board games have therapeutic and recreational potential, fostering social interaction. However, the lack of adaptation for visually impaired individuals poses a significant accessibility limitation. This is evident in "Ticket to Ride," a game with a railway-building dynamic lacking an accessible version for this community.
Game Development: The project involves designing a new board, based on the map of Spain, using graphic design software like Photoshop. Additionally, cards and elements with relief and Braille have been created to aid tactile identification. Elements were designed using Tinkercad for 3D printing to enhance tactile experience and spatial understanding. Game dynamics were adjusted, and extra features like minimaps, adapted sheets, and modified markers were added for improved gameplay.
Strengths and Limitations: Notable strengths include enhanced social accessibility with user-centered focus and dissemination potential. However, challenges in large-scale production due to high costs and validation exist.
Product Implementation: A 3D prototype printing of the game is planned, followed by pilot testing with visually impaired individuals for adjustments and enhancements.
