Many food and nutrition myths are widely spread, mainly through social media, leading to false beliefs about food, nutrition and food-related facts that result in certain behaviours, from fad trends to dieting. Academic training is a valuable tool to combat food myths and related pseudoscience, but educators should also have some knowledge in the area of food and nutrition. Therefore, this project was carried out. We studied the level of acceptance and agreement with seventeen highly popular food myths among prospective teachers. To carry out this work, a previous study was carried out on habits and the knowledge they might have about food, we collected data from university students of the degree of Teacher Training of Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching of the UMH (future teachers), the authorisation procedure is included in the methodology. Based on the results obtained, different activities/actions focused on teachers were proposed to increase knowledge related to food and nutrition. Emphasis was placed on ensuring an adequate scientific basis on healthy and sustainable food during the training stage of future teachers.
