Cerebral arteriovenous malformation occurs during pregnancy and represents a pathology with a prevalence in the population of 10 to 18 per 100,000 inhabitants. The symptoms that may arise and the complications make it necessary to study it, 50% of arteriovenous malformations cause brain hemorrhages. The objective is to present a single case study on brain damage caused by the rupture of an arteriovenous malformation with hemorrhage, to know the cognitive sequelae and their evolution in an adolescent, as well as the efficacy of neuropsychological intervention. The alteration of cognitive functions in an emerging stage of development such as executive functions, memory and attention are keys to the maturation of impulse control and behavior regulation. The method consists of the participant's history, the assessment variables and instruments, the NEPSY-II Infant Neuropsychological Battery and the Functional Independence Measure - Functional Assessment Measure scale, as well as the procedure followed in the intervention. The results are objectified through neuropsychological tests, comparing the scores before and after the intervention. In conclusion, the brain damage suffered in adolescence shows cognitive and behavioral alterations that influence the family, social and academic areas, in addition to the need for long-term rehabilitation in order to learn new strategies to adapt to difficulties.
