Introduction: The prostate is a gland susceptible to prostate cancer, which is surgically intervened by radical prostatectomy at the expense of the high percentage of incontinent men after radical prostatectomy. Under physiotherapy techniques, pelvic floor muscle training exercises are exercises aimed at controlling urine leakage, which are non-existent in today's treatment plan and can bring benefits not only for urine leakage. Objectives: The main purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of pelvic floor muscle exercises in men after radical prostatectomy. Methods: An advanced search for scientific articles was carried out in the PubMed, PEDro, ENFISPO and Embase databases using the search equation: ((Pelvic Floor Muscle Training) OR (Kegel)) AND (Radical Prostatectomy). This being adapted in the PEDro and Embase databases due to their terminology introduction system. Results: Following the article selection process for the review, a total of 13 randomised clinical trials were selected, which studied the effect of pelvic floor muscle exercises on the above-described target population based on four variables: urinary incontinence, quality of life, muscle contraction and erectile function. Conclusion: Pelvic floor muscle exercises are not effective for men undergoing radical prostatectomy on urinary incontinence, quality of life and erectile function. They only show significant improvements in muscle contraction.
