Hércules de Alicante: Historia viva de una ciudad

Abstract

El Hércules de Alicante, club de fútbol insignia de la ciudad levantina, cumplió en octubre de 2022 cien años de historia convirtiéndose en la primera institución deportiva que llega a esta cifra en la ciudad, la segunda en la provincia y la tercera de la Comunidad Valenciana. El largo recorrido del conjunto blanquiazul ha escrito varios de los episodios más reconocidos de la idiosincrasia deportiva de la región llegando a disputar 20 temporadas en Primera División y 46 en Segunda. Sin embargo, su importancia en la ciudad sobrepasa los límites deportivos. El Hércules es su afición y, por tanto, crea un eje vertebrador de la cultura entre los habitantes de la ciudad. En este trabajo sonoro en formato podcast se busca plasmar los momentos más importantes del Hércules tanto a nivel deportivo como institucional, social y económico y plasmar que el futbol crea todo un conglomerado de aspectos claves con el paso de los años. Hércules de Alicante: Historia viva de una ciudad, como así se titula, está formado por un gran número de archivos sonoros relacionados con la historia del club como entrevistas a directivas y jugadores, extractos de goles, etc. La locución se ha realizado a través de un gran proceso de documentación previa mediante portales web, libros y documentación aportada por los propios entrevistados. Exjugadores, directivos, aficionados, periodistas y miembros de la Comisión del Centenario son los protagonistas de este podcast. Una vez obtenido el resultado final del trabajo se puede concluir que el Hércules, pese a la deficitaria situación deportiva que atraviesa en Segunda RFEF, continúa teniendo una influencia significativa en la ciudad de Alicate debida, en gran parte, a las gestas obtenidas a lo largo de estos cien años de historia. Se trata de una entidad que se entiende como tradición y que es transferida de generación en generación guardando y recordando momentos que han marcado la vida de los socios y aficionados herculanos. Sin embargo, también se ha podido comprobar cómo el Hércules ha sido objetivo de personas que concebían al club como una forma de negocio más que como un símbolo para la ciudad a la misma altura que lo son las Hogueras o lo es la Santa Faz. El club ha pasado muchas situaciones de crisis económica que lo han llevado al borde de la desaparición como en 1999 como resultados de una gestión cuestionable. En definitiva, a través del análisis deportivo e institucional del Hércules en estos cien años de historia, se ha podido comprobar la importancia de esta entidad para la sociedad alicantina y su papel como eje vertebrador de esta a nivel cultural. No es un equipo más. El Hércules no se entiende sin Alicante y Alicante no se entiende sin su Hércules.

However, its importance in the city goes beyond sporting limits. Hércules is its fans and, therefore, creates a backbone of culture among the city's inhabitants. This sound work in podcast format seeks to capture the most important moments of Hercules at the sporting, institutional, social and economic level and to show that football creates a whole conglomerate of key aspects over the years. Hércules de Alicante: Historia viva de una ciudad, as it is called, is made up of a large number of sound files related to the history of the club, such as interviews with directors and players, extracts of goals, etc. The voice-over has been done through a great process of previous documentation through web portals, books and documentation provided by the interviewees themselves. Former players, managers, fans, journalists and members of the Centenary Commission are the protagonists of this podcast. Once the final result of the work has been obtained, it can be concluded that Hercules, despite the poor sporting situation it is going through in the RFEF Second Division, continues to have a significant influence in the city of Alicate due, in large part, to the achievements obtained throughout these one hundred years of history. It is an entity that is understood as a tradition and that is transferred from generation to generation, keeping and remembering moments that have marked the life of Herculano members and fans. However, it has also been seen how Hercules has been the target of people who conceived the club as a form of business rather than as a symbol for the city on the same level as the Bonfires or the Santa Faz. The club has gone through many situations of economic crisis that have brought it to the brink of disappearance as in 1999 as a result of questionable management. In short, through the sporting and institutional analysis of Hercules in these one hundred years of history, the importance of this entity for the Alicante society and its role as the backbone of this at a cultural level has been proven. It is not just another team. Hercules cannot be understood without Alicante and Alicante cannot be understood without Hercules.
