This research project addresses the construction of gender stereotypes surrounding rage. The reappropriation of this emotion by feminisms, which was forbidden for women during socialization processes, will be reclaimed for its political and subversive power. The study will focus on spaces where these stereotypes are deconstructed through the resignification of suppressed knowledge, specifically through textile techniques. It is limited to the Chilean context, from the military dictatorship to the Social Outbreak in 2019, tracing a common thread between "arpilleras" (textile art) and feminist hoods ("capuchas"). The textile forms of resistance that have emerged during these periods have not only provided spaces to channel rage but have also created visual representations that challenge stereotypes, particularly through the use of feminist hoods. This work examines, through the artifact of the hood, these feminist and queer visual expressions that arise in public space with the aim of staging indignation and demanding visibility. Finally, nearly four years after the Social Outbreak, this study reflects on the journey of this object, from the 2019 protests to the present day, through interviews with three women who have used hoods in their artistic practices.
