The research conducted in the following Bachelor's Degree Final Project in Journalism is based on the analysis of four of the most widely read media outlets in Spain, two sports newspapers (Diario AS and Marca) and two general newspapers (El País and El Mundo), regarding how they have covered the information related to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, with the aim of determining if they are influenced when publishing critical content about high-ranking officials of Spanish football and FIFA itself. Various themes have been observed to carry out the research, including the corruption uncovered in FIFA between 2010 and 2015, the ecological conditions of hosting the tournament, the labor exploitation of immigrant workers (90% of Qatar's workforce), and the lack of freedom of expression in the country and in the stadiums. It is based on publications related to the championship, starting from the voting held in 2010 with Qatar as the host of 2022 until its conclusion on 18th December.
