Introduction: burns continue to be a major public health problem worldwide, recognized by the WHO, since they cause around 180,000 deaths a year worldwide. In Spain, according to recent data prepared by the Spanish Association of Burns and the Mapfre Foundation in "Report of injuries due to Burns in Spain (2011 - 2017)" each year there are more than 6,500 visits to the Emergency Room as a result of burns, which means more than 18 visits per day, with 1,300 hospital admissions and 59 deaths in hospital. In addition to their high incidence, burns have a significant impact on quality of life and are associated with high consumption and expenditure of healthcare resources. Therefore, it is necessary to review and provide the most efficient treatments and care, and for this we must base ourselves on the best available evidence. Objectives: firstly, to establish the assistance to burned patients in the HED of a Regional Hospital through the elaboration of ICP and, secondarily, to review the bibliography of the main sources used in the daily practice of the HED. Material and methods: this work has been prepared following the ICPmethodology proposed by in the “Guide for the design and continuous improvement of Integrated Care Processes. Andalusian Health Service". It collects and details the itinerary of the patients with the different activities sequentially. It also includes the search and adaptation of the recommendations of the literature. Results: A ICP has been developed for the burned patient who attends the HED of a regional hospital including description, components and graphic representation following the recommendations included in the main bibliographic sources. Conclusions: this work describes the itinerary of a patient who suffers burns and is assisted in a regional hospital and the set of actions that must be carried out based on the evidence of a non-systematic bibliographic search. More studies are needed and training of health professionals in the interpretation and development of this type of tool.
