The constant feeling of exhaustion, mental drain and saturation caused in people by
excessive and uninterrupted information overload through the media is, today and more
than ever, subject of exploration and analysis. Starting from this point, so current today
and so present in my day to day, i feel the need to create, perhaps to put order to a bunch
of ideas that interrupt and trample on each other, a visual and sonic atmosphere that
reflects all of it. From the artistic inspiration evoked by Net.Art and video art, the goal
is to create a short film that addresses the subject from an almost apocalyptic vision,
referring to the theoretical and philosophical ideas of thinkers such as Naomi Klein and
The Shock Doctrine or Guy Debord and his Society of the Spectacle, which I find
directly related to information overload, fake news or sensationalist headlines that
spread panic and distort reality. It’s interesting to approach this topic in a visual and
artistic way due to its relevance and unprecedented-phenomenon quality that finds its
peak in today's society, given technological advances, mass production and its
consequent creation of a false need for constant consumption. My intention is to
capture, exploring my ability to represent this series of ideas, the feelings that come
from this situation through images, sounds, texts and shapes, using techniques that I’ve
already had the opportunity to explore, such as Photoshop and 2D animation, as well as
others with which I’ve never worked in depth before, like 2.5D animation and matte
painting, through programs such as After Effects, which I will mainly work with.
