Introduction. Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic disease characterized by chronic pain and with a wide range of symptoms in general. Its etiology is unknown and the prevalence is high, predominantly in women. It has a strong impact on daily activities and quality of life. Objective. The purpose of this study is to know the effectiveness of multicomponent treatment in adults using, at least, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and physical exercise, in addition to the combination with Pain Neuroscience Education, Mindfulness Training and application according to the cognitive-behavioral pattern of the patient. Methods. To carry out the study, a bibliographic research was conducted between February and May 2022 in Pubmed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, and Cochrane. We collected randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and pilot studies on multicomponent treatment in FM from 2006 to 2022. Results. We included 6 RCTs and 2 pilot studies with 772 subjects. By combining the different therapies, short- and long-term benefits are found in pain, kinesiophobia, anxiety, depression, physical condition, perceived exertion and fatigue. Conclusion. Multicomponent treatment is effective in improving FM symptoms in the short and long term, improving physical and psychological functioning and quality of life. A treatment protocol should be standardized to obtain more objective results and to maintain the effects once the treatment is completed.
