Xanadú: paraiso naturalmente inventado

Abstract

Este trabajo de fin de grado se titula “Xanadú”, nombre con el que a su vez me identifico como artista. En este proyecto se trata el tema de la mitología asturiana, una mitología de la región conocida como “paraíso natural” y que en este caso es transformado a un “paraíso naturalmente inventado”. A los seres mitológicos de esta zona del noroeste de la península se les ha otorgado una nueva forma para darles así un nuevo significado a sus leyendas, las cuales están quedando en el olvido debido a su antigua forma de transmisión. Estos personajes mitológicos son creados e ilustrados digitalmente, tomando como referencia sus primeras descripciones y adaptándolas a la sociedad asturiana desde un punto de vista más adecuado a nuestros tiempos. Las nuevas representaciones están recogidas en una serie de ocho postales, acompañadas de un texto en asturiano perteneciente a cada uno de los personajes y que a su vez transmite rasgos de su personalidad.

This end-of-grade project is entitled "Xanadú", which is also the name i use as an artist. The asturian mythology, the group of myths from a region known as “natural Paradise”, is addressed in this work, transforming and renaming this “natural Paradise” to a “naturally invented paradise”. The mythological beings of this area of the northwest of the peninsula have been given a new form. this way, their legends receive a new meaning that changes them from the old form of transmission which makes them highly forgotten. These mythological characters are created and illustrated digitally, taking their first descriptions as a reference and adapting them to asturian society from a more appropriate point of view to our times. The new representations are collected in a series of eight postcards, accompanied by a text written in asturian that belongs to each one of the characters and which also transmits their personality.
