Introduction: Nowadays population aging is taking place at a very fast pace and as a consequence cognitive impairment is also getting worse, it affects the quality of life of older adults. Because of that, it would be interesting to study the factors that can influence cognitive impairment. Objective: Analyze the influence of sociodemographic factors on memory performance in cognitively active older adults. Method: 137 older adults participated, aged between 55 and 87 years old, enrolled in “Programa de las Aulas Universitarias de la Experiencia” (AUNEX). They also completed some neuropsychological tests such as: the Rey–Osterrieth Complex Figure Test, the Free and Cued Selective Reminding Test or the Item Specific Deficit Approach. Analysis: T-Student, ANOVA and multiple linear regression analysis were done. Results: Results only show a relevant influence of age over encoding deficit index, also years of schooling influences consolidation deficit index. It would be interesting to add other sociodemographic factors to the analysis. However, it can be stated that older adults of this study have shown a better cognitive performance than those who are not cognitively active.
