Abstract: La enfermedad neumocócica invasiva (ENI) es la primera causa de muerte prevenible mediante vacunación en el mundo y una de las 10 principales causas de muerte mundial1; en la última década se ha realizado un importante progreso en la prevención de estas infecciones. El estudio pretende, mediante una revisión sistemática, analizar el grado de efectividad, impacto, respuesta inmune y seguridad de la vacunación neumocócica 23 valente en pacientes con diabetes mellitus (DM), el grado de adherencia a la vacunación neumocócica en función de los programas de inmunización en diabéticos y el estado actual de la literatura científica sobre la epidemiología de la ENI en diabéticos a nivel global y nacional. Previamente se realizó una búsqueda previa en el Registro Prospectivo Internacional de Revisiones Sistemáticas (PROSPERO) de la Cochrane Library para ver el estado de las revisiones sistemáticas que se están llevando a cabo sobre la vacunación neumocócica para evitar la duplicación de estudios y trabajos. Para ello se describe la metodología a seguir detalladamente y se realizará una revisión bibliográfica utilizando bases de datos nacionales e internacionales de Ciencias de la Salud. Se concreta el calendario de trabajo, los participantes en el estudio y las limitaciones del mismo. Invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) is the leading cause of death preventable by vaccination in the world and one of the 10 leading causes of death worldwide1; significant progress has been made in the past decade in preventing these infections. The study aims, through a systematic review, to analyze the degree of efficacy, impact, immune response and safety of the 23-valent pneumococcal vaccination in the population at risk with diabetes mellitus (DM), the degree of adherence to pneumococcal vaccination based on immunization programs and the current state of the scientific literature on the epidemiology of IPD at the global and national levels. Previously, a previous search was carried out in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) of the Cochrane Library to see the status of the systematic reviews that are being carried out on pneumococcal vaccination to avoid duplication of studies and works. For this, the methodology to be followed is described in detail and a bibliographic review is carried out using national and international databases of Health Sciences. The work schedule, the study participants and its limitations are specified.
