Abstract Introduction: The pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has made our healthcare
professionals more susceptible to developing Burnout syndrome (SB) because they are
on the front line against the virus. It is a psychological syndrome derived from a
prolonged response to chronic emotional and interpersonal stressors at the work level.
Objective: To analyze the quality of life and Burnout syndrome in health personnel who
have worked during the pandemic. Material and methods: Population-based, crosssectional, descriptive and prospective study, by means of an online survey using the
EQ5D and MBI scales, in addition to other sociodemographic variables, in relation to
working life and the virus. Results: 50% of those surveyed have a poor quality of life (>
5 in the EQ5D); 18% of healthcare personnel suffer from burnout syndrome.
Conclusions: Half of the health personnel have a poor quality of life. One out of every
five health workers has burnout syndrome; finding statistically significant differences
according to the professional category and the service in which they work. Half of the
health personnel have a poor quality of life.
