Since the creation of the first Olympic Games in 777 BC, we have always found that the
women's sector has been repressed in the field of sport. But now we find that it is a
reality that women's sport has been evolving. This was predicted by former FIFA
President Joseph S. Blatter, who said: "The future is feminine. There will come a time
when there will be as many women as men playing football, offering shows of equal or
even greater quality and beauty" Galán (2019).
The aim of this research is to find out how the media has been relating to the teams in
this competition and at what point it has grown to the level of men's football. Although
it is true that there is still a long way to go, the support of large institutions and
companies has made this development possible. The multinational energy company
Iberdrola has been one of the institutions providing greater support to women's sport.
The conclusion that can be reached with the results obtained from the survey carried
out and sent to the 16 teams that make up Primera Iberdrola, is that communication
management in women's football is probably not as developed due to the priority given
to men's football, but, we also find cases such as RC Deportivo where they do not have
any social network to carry out that communication, or where a large part of the
women's clubs are within the networks of the men's clubs.
