Desinformación del Gobierno Español durante el primer estado de alarma de marzo del 2020

Abstract

La desinformación se podría definir como la difusión intencionada de información rigurosa que busca minar la confianza pública, distorsionar los hechos, transmitir una determinada forma de percibir la realidad y explotar vulnerabilidades con el objetivo de desestabilizar (Olmo y Romero, 2019). No solo los medios de comunicación desinforman, los gobiernos también son partícipes de ello. Desinformar es fallar al artículo 20 de nuestra constitución, y por lo tanto que un Gobierno oculte información, es vulnerar un derecho fundamental. Tras una pandemia global en la que la información era fundamental, la censura informativa y la manipulación son las protagonistas de esta investigación. Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado va a analizar la información pública dada por el Gobierno de Pedro Sánchez Castejon, las mentiras vertidas sobre un país en un momento tan crítico, el papel de los periodistas respecto al mismo y la politización de RTVE durante esta etapa. El estudio de caso se ha llevado a cabo a través de un análisis cualitativo. En el que se han tomado como referencia: las informaciones dadas por el Gobierno de España en sus diferentes plataformas, las ruedas de prensa del Presidente del Gobierno y Ministros, noticias dadas por medios de comunicación durante el primer estado de alarma, artículos con fundamentación jurídica sobre la Libertad de Expresión e Información, dos entrevistas realizadas a profesionales del fotoperiodismo como Pedro Armestre, o de la comunicación política como Jose Luis Gónzalez.

Desinformation could be defined as the intended diffusion of rigorous information which looks to undermine the public trust, distort a determined way of perceiving reality and exploit vulnerabilities with the end goal of destabilizing it (Olmo & Romero, 2019). The public media isn’t alone in this, the government also partakes in this desinformation. Misinforming doesn’t follow Article 20 of our Constitution, and therefore the government hiding information is directly vulnerating a fundamental right. After a global pandemic where information has been fundamental, informative censorship and manipulation are the protagonists of this investigation. This End of the Degree Paper is going to analyze the public information given by the Government of Pedro Sánchez Castejon, the lies poured onto a country in a critical moment, the role of journalism in this respect about the matter and the polarization of the RTVE during this stage. The case study has been executed following a qualitative analysis where the following references were taken: the information given by the Spanish Government in their different platforms, the press conferences given by the President of the Government and Ministries, news given by the media outlets during the first alarm state, articles with legal foundation about the Freedom of Expression and Information, two interviews done to photojournalist professionals like Pedro Armestre, or of political communication like Jose Luis Gónzalez.
