The world of digital technology has become the paradigmatic example of globalization, finding that an enormous amount of protected personal data is transferred daily, especially in the field of social networks. This new rea-lity, in constant evolution, has as a consequence that the personal data protected by citizens of the European Union is transferred to third countries that do not have the data protection regulations of the European Union, with the risk that the rights of the citizens are left without protection. The Court of Justice of the European Union pronounces on some of these as-pects in its Judgment of July 16, 2020, which resolves various issues of great relevance in the field of personal data protection
