On November the 8th 2016, the entire world was shocked with one of the largest
political earthquakes in recent years. Billionaire mogul Donald Trump beat poll favorite
Hillary Clinton and was elected the new president of the United States. With a direct
style, without filters and imposing a brutal discourse based on "with me or against
me", the four years of Trump's mandate convulsed and agitated the country and the
world. On the contrary, they were magnificent for the media, which found in the figure
of the new president one character that attracted the public's gaze and generated
debate and controversy in every action and every word. From there, a love-hate
relationship began between Trump and the media, which alternated the role of allies
and enemies throughout his short political career. Because the media loves Trump, and
Trump hates them but needs them.
Months after his departure from the White House, it was the perfect time to carry out
this investigation, which brings together current affairs but also the perspective that
only time can offer. Much has been written about Trump, as we will see, but a text was
needed that would gather all the information about his connection with the press in
order to finally draw the proper conclusions from what his mandate entailed.
Of course, if there is an interesting period in American political history to analyze, it is
that of the presidency of Donald Trump. They were four years of pure frenzy, constant
polemics and daily turns of the wheel that can only be explained by understanding the
Republican's maxim: improvise at all times. An unusual situation, a historical stage and
a unique president.
