Method: Systematic review of the literature using the PRISMA method. The literature research was made in the Sport Discuss, Dialnet and PSICODOC databases, using the descriptors "burnout" and "physical education teachers", in Spanish and English. Results: 14 documents were selected for analysis, of which 7 are cross-sectional studies, 2 quantitative studies, 1 case study, 1 qualitative study, 1 systematic review, 1 exploratory study and 1 descriptive study. Conclusions: Physical education teachers present moderate levels of burnout, with the most influential variable being the bureaucratic burden. Despite the low levels, it is necessary not forgive to keep doing research on this topic for the prevention and face fronting with burnout syndrome in these professionals.
