Cobertura de conflictos en Oriente Medio por parte de los medios generalistas españoles: El País, El Mundo y La Vanguardia

Abstract

El inicio de los conflictos en Oriente Medio se produjo hace 100 años, desde el comienzo de la Primera Guerra Mundial, con la caída del Imperio Otomano. Actualmente esta es una de las zonas más convulsas, y con más conflictos armados, existentes en el mundo, en el que también participan potencias occidentales como Estados Unidos o Rusia. Algunos de estos conflictos son: la guerra civil de Yemen, que comenzó en el año 2015; la guerra civil de Siria, que estalló en 2011, tras la Primavera Árabe; la Guerra de Afganistán, que comenzó tras los atentados del 11S en Estados Unidos; o el conflicto entre Palestina e Israel, que se remonta al siglo XIX, y que a día de hoy sigue enfrentando a ambos pueblos. Con esta investigación se pretende analizar qué tipo de cobertura tienen los diferentes conflictos en Oriente Medio por parte de los principales medios de comunicación generalistas de España. Para llevar a cabo este estudio se han seleccionado tres medios diferentes, de los que se examinaran las noticias que se han publicado sobre los diferentes conflictos activos en Oriente Medio. En este trabajo también se incluyen entrevistas a varios periodistas que han trabajado en esta zona y que pueden aportar su visión como profesionales a este estudio

The beginning of conflicts in the Middle East ocurred 100 years ago, since the beginning of First World War, with the fall of the Ottoman Empire. Currentley, this is one of the most convulsed areas in the world, with more armed conflicts, in which western powers such as the United State or Russia as also involved. Some of these conflcits are: The civil war in Yemen, which began in 2015; The civil war in Syria, which broke up in 2011, after the Arab Springs; the war in Afghanistan which began after 9/11 attacks in the United States; and the Palestine – Israel conflict, which dates back to the 19th century and continues to confront both peoples to this day. The aim of this research is to analyze the type of coverage of the differents conflicts in the Middle East by the main general media in Spain. In order to carry out this study, three different media have been selected to examine the news published on the different active conflcits in the Middle East. This work also includes interviews with several journalist who have worked in this area and who can contribute their vision as professionals to this study
