Guía para la integración del alumno con TEA en el ámbito escolar

Abstract

El presente trabajo trata de una guía informativa y metodológica a los profesionales de educación para entender y abordar adecuadamente problemas relacionados con la adaptación de niños con TEA en el ambiente escolar, y gestionar métodos eficaces ante situaciones que se dan repetidamente a causa de las particularidades de este colectivo. Se explica cómo los problemas de integración sensorial que presenta el colectivo de niños de temprana edad con TEA afectan a la forma en la que se desenvuelven en el ambiente escolar y como repercute esto en la adquisición de habilidades. Cómo abordar estos problemas es parte del trabajo que debe abordar un Terapeuta Ocupacional, para ello se explican diferentes técnicas basadas en el Método Teacch, el Método Peana y el PECS para adaptar el sistema escolar a las necesidades de los alumnos, y dar una respuesta educativa adecuada y de esta forma mejorar la calidad de vida de estos niños dentro del ámbito escolar.

The present work is an informative and methodological guide for educational professionals to understand and address problems related to the adaptation of children with ASD in the school environment, and to manage effective methods in situations that happen repeatedly because of the particularities of this group. It explains how the problems of sensory integration presented by the group of young children with ASD affect the way they get on in the school environment and how this affects the acquisition of skills. How to deal with these problems is part of the work that must be addressed by an Occupational Therapist. Different techniques based on the Teacch Method, the Peana Method and the PECS are explained in order to adapt the school system to the needs of the students and to provide a suitable educational response and in this way to improve the quality of life of these children within the school environment.
