The present work is an informative and methodological guide for educational professionals to understand and address problems related to the adaptation of children with ASD in the school environment, and to manage effective methods in situations that happen repeatedly because of the particularities of this group. It explains how the problems of sensory integration presented by the group of young children with ASD affect the way they get on in the school environment and how this affects the acquisition of skills. How to deal with these problems is part of the work that must be addressed by an Occupational Therapist. Different techniques based on the Teacch Method, the Peana Method and the PECS are explained in order to adapt the school system to the needs of the students and to provide a suitable educational response and in this way to improve the quality of life of these children within the school environment.
