Introduction:
The game is intrinsically in the skills and processes of socialization of a human being. There is another dimension within the game in which randomness and economic quantity is revealed, this behavior can be a serious problem for those who practice it, this behavior could lead to the development of a pathology called “pathological game” which consists of a failure to resist the impulses to play and the behavior of playing, failure that endangers, alters or damages personal, family and vocational interests.
Goals:
Decrease anxiety in people with pathological gambling problems
Reduce or eliminate risk relapse.
Hypothesis:
The intervention from Occupational Therapy through the “Mindfulness” technique and cognitive restructuring in people enrolled in pathological gambling treatment reduces anxiety and relapse risk.
Methodology:
Intervention research. Inclusion criteria: Be pathological players, be within an age range between 20 and 60 and be users of UCA in the province of Alicante. Size of the sample (to be determined) divided into experimental group and control group. Independent variables: mindfulness and cognitive destructuring. Dependent variables: anxiety and relapse risk. Sociodemographic variables: Study level, family situation, economic level, employment situation and origin. Hamilton scale, Norc DSM-IV. Data analysis: free software R version 3.2.0. Revelation plan: Health centers and UCAS posters, CITO and scientific journal publication ADDICTIONS. Limitations: Lack of scientific evidence and abandonment of the program
