The psychomotricity in the first years of life is essential for the learning of the child, however there aren't many studies that evaluate its effectiveness in the school, for that reason the objective of the present study was to evaluate the effects of a psychomotor program. An experimental design with pre-test and post-test measurements was used. The sample consisted of 6 participants between 24 and 30 months of age of a children's school in Alicante, randomly and equally distributed in control group and experimental group. Two evaluation instruments were applied: the Merrill-Palmer–Revised Scales of Development Scales and the Psychomotor Examination of Picq and Vayer, as well as the observation of the psychomotor parameters proposed by Aucouturier. The program consisted of a total of 30 sessions, with a periodicity of three weekly sessions of 45 minutes each one, during a period of 2 and a half months. In the pre-test there were almost no relevant differences in the results obtained from the evaluations made between both groups. The results showed an increase in motor behaviors (general dynamic coordination, visual-motor coordination), neuromotor behaviors (tonicity, posture and balance, body outline), as well as on the five evaluated areas that integrate the global child development. These results show the importance of expanding research in this line on the implementation of psychomotor practice in the curricular project of children’s schools.
