Resumen :
Introducción: Lanzamientos, saques, mates, remates, bloqueos y brazadas son movimientos que realizan estos deportistas. Introduction: Tennis, volleyball, handball, basketball, badminton, baseball, swimming, water polo, crossfit, and javelin throw are classified as overhead or overhead sports. Throws, serves, dunks, spikes, blocks and strokes are movements that these athletes perform. This type of sports can induce glenohumeral modifications and scapulothoracic alterations that lead to instability or future dysfunctions, injuries or pathologies. For this reason, the use of possible physiotherapy techniques for the treatment and prevention of these using rigid tape or kinesio bandage has been investigated in this systematic review. Objectives: To collect, analyze and compare existing and current scientific evidence on the effects of overhead taping in athletes. Material and methods: A bibliographic research of clinical trials published between 2015 and 2021 was carried out in five databases: Pubmed, Science Direct, Scopus, PEDro and Cochrane Library. The methodological quality was determined using the PEDro Scale. Results: Finally, eight studies were included in which a bandage treatment group was compared with one or more control, placebo or with a second treatment group. Outcome measures that were recognized were scapular kinematics, strength, posture, muscle activity, subacromial space, and ROM or muscle laxity. Conclusions: There is moderate and high evidence that the bandage with rigid tape or Kinesio has effects in overhead athletes, although there is little evidence of good methodological quality. After the study, it was not possible to determine clear differences between the different types of bandage, but it is preferable not to use the bandage in isolation and apply it together with other physiotherapy techniques.
