The objective of the present study is to analyse how video games, being a socializing medium, carry out a series of interrelationships between male and female players, usually based on a sexist perspective. Women receive a series of comments and discriminatory attitudes because male players consider that female players are invading a space considered exclusively masculine. Moreover, since these are digital leisure media created by a mostly male industry, female representations are designed by men and for men, based on gender roles and stereotypes. However, although the female presence in the industry remains less, gradually, the female characters are breaking the schemes established until recently, and they are no longer considered secondary characters, becoming the new protagonists of the story. The aim of this work is to know the current situation of the female players and how they feel about female representations in video games. In addition, it focuses on a topic that has not been developed so far, the social interactions between male and female players analysed from a gender perspective. In order to carry out the research, an analysis of the current situation, a survey and various interviews have been carried out. These methods have led us to achieve hopeful results but, at the same time, have shown that there is still a long way to go
