Los tópicos en las representaciones de las parejas lésbicas en el cine

Abstract

Esta investigación estudia la existencia y la representación de tópicos y estereotipos en las parejas lésbicas cisgénero en el cine. Estos medios son los de más fácil acceso y comprensión para el gran público y, por tanto, desempeñan un papel principal en la producción y reproducción de representaciones sociales y culturales. En este TFG, se describen y comparan un conjunto de películas seleccionadas mediante los tests de Bechdel y de Russo. Se analiza la representación de los tópicos y estereotipos en seis temas (encuentro, actividad sexual, vergüenza, curiosidad, estilismo y rechazo) en los que se expresa la normalización y los rasgos diferenciales de los personajes escogidos. Los resultados muestran que la representación cinematográfica que prevalece está dirigida al uso y disfrute del público masculino cisheterosexual. En este discurso, la representación de las mujeres lesbianas se ve afectada por el fetichismo, la morbosidad y la exposición del cuerpo femenino, lo que incide negativamente en su consideración social. Por tanto, dado que no muestra la realidad social, sexual y sentimental de la identidad lésbica, este colectivo no se identifica con este discurso cinematográfico.

This research studies the existence and representation of topics and stereotypes in cisgender lesbian couples in film. These media are the easiest to access and understand for the general public and, therefore, play a major role in the production and reproduction of social and cultural representations. In this TFG, a set of films selected using the Bechdel and Russo tests are described and compared. The representation of the topics and stereotypes in six themes (encounter, sexual activity, shame, curiosity, styling and rejection) in which the normalization and differential features of the chosen characters are expressed are analyzed. The results show that the prevailing cinematographic representation is directed to the use and enjoyment of the cisheterosexual male audience. In this discourse, the representation of lesbian women is affected by fetishism, morbidity and exposure of the female body, which negatively affects their social consideration. Therefore, since it does not show the social, sexual and sentimental reality of lesbian identity, this group does not identify with this cinematographic discourse.
