The present work analyzes the inclusion of political parties in the Spanish Constitution of 1978, in which, even though there is no detailed regulation on them, the ideas of their special role in Spanish democracy are extracted. We can observe how political formations are offered a relevant role in the Spanish State when it speaks of political pluralism in article 6, of the right of association contained in article 22 or of citizen participation in public life in the article 23. In the same way, the administration closest to the citizenry is the City Councils, so we will try to bring together the main characteristics of the municipal electoral system in Spain and, specifically, how our representatives are elected internally in their political parties, the selection processes of the electoral lists of the different political parties, focusing on the methods followed by the six political parties or electoral coalitions with representation in the Crevillent Council in the 2019-2023 legislature.
