Dimensionado y estudio de viabilidad de una granja de Tenebrio Molitor en el término municipal de Lorquí (Murcia)

Abstract

Actualmente la cría de insectos está siendo considerada una alternativa a las fuentes tradicionales de proteína animal y vegetal (Stull y Patz, 2020). La implantación de las granjas de insectos está experimentando un fuerte incremento, sobre todo en Europa, única región donde existe un reglamento de seguridad alimentaria sobre insectos comestibles (Murefu et al., 2019). El uso de insectos tiene numerosas ventajas, destacando su perfil nutricional y la sostenibilidad para el medio ambiente (Stull y Patz, 2020; Hlongwane et al., 2020). El presente trabajo pretende estudiar las necesidades para el óptimo desarrollo del Tenebrio molitor, los requerimientos para su explotación ganadera y analizar la viabilidad económica de una granja dedicada a su producción para alimentación animal.

Insect farming is currently being considered an alternative to traditional sources of animal and vegetable protein (Stull y Patz, 2020). The implantation of insect farms is experiencing a strong increase, especially in Europe, the only region where there is a food safety regulation on edible insects (Murefu et al., 2019). The use of insects has numerous advantages, highlighting their nutritional profile and sustainability for the environment (Stull and Patz, 2020; Hlongwane et al., 2020). The present work aims to study the needs for the optimal development of Tenebrio molitor, the requirements for its livestock exploitation and analyze the economic feasibility of a farm dedicated to its production for animal feeding.
