Maltrato y negligencia en la infancia y adolescencia: repercusión en quejas subjetivas de memoria y sintomatología prefrontal

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar la influencia del maltrato y la negligencia en la infancia y/o adolescencia en las variables cognitivas Quejas Subjetivas de Memoria (QSM) y Sintomatología Prefrontal (SP) en una muestra de población general de 254 sujetos, entre 18 y 35 años. La medida de los eventos traumáticos se hizo a través del cuestionario CTQ-SF. Para la evaluación de las QSM se utilizó el MFE-30 y, la medida de la SP, se realizó mediante el ISP-20. Para el análisis de los datos se realizó un ANCOVA para cada uno de los factores que componen el CTQ-SF. Las puntuaciones para cada factor, se distribuyeron en dos grupos, teniendo como referencia el percentil 50. Los resultados confirmaron la influencia del abuso emocional y la negligencia emocional en las QSM y la SP, sin embargo, no se hallaron asociaciones entre estas variables y el abuso físico y sexual. La negligencia física mostró un efecto débil, pero significativo sobre ambas variables. Las limitaciones del estudio se comentan en la discusión. Este trabajo pretende aportar luz en el marco de las consecuencias de los eventos traumáticos en la infancia con el fin de ampliar los objetivos de intervención en los casos de abuso y negligencia infantil.

The objetive of this study was to determine the influence of childhood and/or adolescence abuse and neglect on the cognitive variables Subjective Memory Complaints (SMC) and Prefrontal Symptomatology (PS) in general population sample of 254 subjects among 18 and 35 years. The measurement of traumatic events was done thorough the CTQ-SF questionnaire. For the evaluation of the SMC, the MFE-30 was used and the measurement of SP was performed by ISP-20. For data analysis, an ANCOVA had been made for each of the factors that compose the CTQ-SF. The scores for each factor were distributed in two groups, taking the 50th percentile as a reference. The results confirmed the influence of emotional abuse and neglect in the SMC and PS, however, no associations were found between these variables and physical and sexual abuse. Physical neglect showed a weak but significant effect on both variables. The limitations of the study are discussed in the Discussion. This work aims to shed light on the consequences of traumatic events in childhood in order to broaden the objetives of intervention cases of child abuse and neglect.
