In April 2018, the Senate approved the bases on which the future Alcohol and Minors Law would be based, colloquially known as the "antibotellón" Law. These bases were approved in the joint Congress-Senate for the Study of the Problem of Drugs. However, on May 25, 2018, a motion of censure was filed against the Government of Spain presided over by Mariano Rajoy. In this way, the text that contained the future law of alcohol remained on the table of the then minister of health, Dolors Montserrat, waiting to be or not draft law. Within this law there is an epigraph referring to the labeling of alcohol bottles with health warnings, as is done with tobacco and all products related to it. 37,000 people died in 2016 from causes related to alcohol, a number as alarming as the 52,000 people who died from tobacco. Among the diseases produced by the continuous consumption of alcohol are pancreatitis, cirrhosis, hypertension, etc. Labeling with health warnings is one of the measures that could work to limit their consumption.
