El papel de Hungría en la crisis migratoria tras la guerra de Siria

Abstract

Tras el estallido de la guerra de Siria y la consiguiente ola de inmigración hacia Europa por parte de los ciudadanos en calidad de refugiados, Hungría ha recibido muchas críticas respecto a las medidas tomadas por su Gobierno o el trato hacia el refugiado o inmigrante. En el verano de 2015 miles de inmigrantes procedentes de zonas en conflicto en Asia, cruzaban la frontera con Serbia diariamente para entrar a Hungría, uno de los primeros países geográficamente hablando y perteneciente a la Unión Europea. El motivo de este movimiento migratorio radica en el estallido de la Guerra en Siria y mueve a su población a buscar asilo político en la Unión Europea. Esta situación ha supuesto un conflicto entre los países pertenecientes a la UE y la autoridad de la misma. Mientras que desde Europa se trata de buscar una solución de solidaridad y apoyo entre sus miembros para hacer frente a la situación, algunos de los países miembros no comparten las medidas tomadas respecto a la distribución y reubicación de inmigrantes entre sus fronteras. Desde un primer momento, Hungría, se ha negado a aceptar las cuotas de refugiados que Europa ha asignado. Esta situación ha provocado que la Unión Europea haya expedientado al país por no cumplir con su parte del acuerdo. Se critican también las medidas tomadas por Hungría respecto a la entrada de refugiados desde la frontera con Serbia, donde por la fuerza se les prohíbe la entrada al país, negando así el derecho de asilo. El rechazo a aceptar las medidas impuestas por la Unión Europea no se limita al Gobierno y administración del país, sino también a su población, que mediante un cuestionado referéndum el día 2 octubre de 2016 se manifestó en contra de las medidas de la Unión respecto a la crisis de refugiados.

After the Syrian Civil War got started and the following immigration crisis invaded Europe with its population asking for the status of refugees, Hungary received many critics regarding the measures their government took against it or the treatment to the refugees or the migrants. In summer 2015, millions of immigrants coming from conflict regions in Asia, crossed daily the border with Serbia in order to enter Hungary, one of the first geographical countries which already belongs to the European Union. The reason of this migrant crisis stems from the Syrian conflict and brings its population to seek for politic asylum in the European Union. This situation meant a conflict between European Union members and its authorities. While from Europe they are trying to find a solution of solidarity and support between the member countries in order to face this situation, some of the countries don’t share the measures taken regarding the issue, distribution and relocation of the migrants among their borders. From the first moment, Hungary refused to accept the refugee quotas which Europe assigned them. This situation provoked the sanction of Hungary from the European Union for not keeping their part of the deal. It is criticized as well the measures that the Hungarian government took regarding the border in Serbia, where by force, the authorities are refusing the potential refugees by banning their entrance to the country, denying then the right of asylum. The rejection to accept the imposed measures which the European Union agreed is not limited to the Hungarian government, but also to their population, who by means of a controversial national referendum in the 2nd October 2016, claimed to be against the European measures regarding the immigration crisis.
