Prensa y Transición Política en España

Abstract

La prensa española tuvo un papel muy importante en la Transición política a la Democracia. Los diferentes acontecimientos importantes que se dieron en este periodo de tiempo (1975-1982) marcaron una época, y la prensa lo mostró tal y como fue. Los periódicos que analizamos en este estudio, ABC y El País, se definieron como los más importantes de la época debido al análisis y a la cobertura total que le dieron a las noticias. Por lo tanto, este trabajo destaca la función que tuvieron estos diarios en la Transición a la democracia, además, de la relación que tuvieron los periodistas con los políticos y las leyes que se derogaron y se aprobaron en relación a la prensa. Con una simple vista a las portadas de ambos diarios se puede comprobar el posicionamiento político de cada uno y la evolución que tuvieron tras la muerte de Franco. Un análisis profundo y exhaustivo en el que podremos ver el nexo que confirma la importante relación entre la prensa y la política en la Transición.

The Spanish press played a very important role in the Political Transition to Democracy. The relevants important events that occurred during this period of time (1975-1982) marked an era, and the press showed it as it was. The newspapers that we analyzed in this study, ABC and El País, were defined as the most important of the period due to the analysis and the full coverage of the news they gave. Therefore, this work highlights the role played by these newspapers in the Transition to Democracy, as well as the relationship that journalists had with politicians and the laws that were repealed and approved regarding the press. With a simple glance at the covers of both newspapers you can check the political positioning of each and the evolution they had after the death of Franco. A deep and exhaustive analysis in which we can see the link that confirms the important relationship between the press and politics in the Transition.
