For years the media has become a fundamental part in our day to day. In the last decades, we have transformed into a more mediatic society in which the reception of information is constant. The mass media inform, influence ideas, generate opinion and entertain, but it also teaches. Communication has evolved with history and has become the basic vector of social issues. As she explained in his book The misunderstanding. How the media educate us, Margarita Rivière (2003, 186), communication has been configured as a fundamental pillar of humanity itself, which contaminates and / or educates even the ideologies that dominate our contemporaneity. Being an important factor in shaping our reality, journalists are figures beyond mere transmitters of information and directly influence as main actors in the educational process. But they must face great challenges regarding the quality of information in a system where immediacy and content reduction prevails in online media. In 2016, journalist and writer Lluís Foix already revealed the key to current journalism in an interview in El País: "Quality has changed because of immediacy" (Geli, 2016). The relationship between education and the media has not been simple. Whether positively or negatively, the possibility of children and young people to receive information without limits through the network is a reality. Few adolescents do not have access to Communication and Information Technologies (ICT). Therefore, teachers are incorporating this technology in their classrooms. How the media works, the records they have or their scope, are some of the elements studied by the youngest. But is it really the information that they should learn? Focusing on the local level, Elche has always stood out for its impeccable historical journey in terms of education. The eighties and early nineties were the golden age for this city. Not only because of its great educational innovations, but also because it was reported. What has changed?
