Azorín, el periodista Estudio del documental Azorín: la imagen y la palabra

Abstract

Este trabajo es un análisis del guion del documental Azorín: la imagen y la palabra realizado por la Diputación de Alicante con el que se pretende conocer la figura de Martínez Ruiz y como ésta ha sido reflejada en la obra audiovisual. Para ello, se ha estudiado el trabajo del guionista, Ramón E. Cánovas, en el proceso de creación del guion, seleccionando una serie de aspectos, como la estructura y el narrador. Por otro lado, se investiga la labor del director en las fases de producción con el objetivo de conocer las fases de la dirección de la obra audiovisual. Y, por último, se analiza la visualización de las tareas de ambos, guionista y director, en el documental. Con el fin de contextualizar la investigación, se han distinguido una serie de conceptos relacionados con el documental como el género o formato. Además, se incluyen las clasificaciones de este género así como las diferentes fases de realización. Azorín: la imagen y la palabra es un documental divulgativo cultural que pretende recuperar la memoria de uno de los creadores de la Generación del 98 y difundir su obra entre el público general. A lo largo del trabajo se incide en la faceta de periodista de Azorín. José Martínez Ruiz, es uno de los periodistas más importantes del siglo XX. Su cuidada prosa y su estilo descriptivo hizo que los diarios más importantes quisieran tenerlo entre sus firmas. Por ello, el presente trabajo analiza la plasmación tanto en el guion del documental, tomando como ejemplos fragmentos del mismo, como en la obra audiovisual, de los momentos más destacados de la trayectoria periodística del literato. La elección del documental Azorín: la imagen y la palabra se debe a la conmemoración del 50 aniversario de la muerte del escritor monovero y la actualidad informativa que representa. Les Corts Valencianes han declarado el 2017 como “Año Azorín” por lo que se realiza por ello una serie de actividades con el fin de homenajear la figura de Martínez Ruiz en toda la provincia de Alicante. Parte de estas actividades es la difusión de 4000 DVDs en centros educativos de la provincia de Alicante así como la proyección en el programa “Imprescindibles” de La 2 (pendiente de fijar fecha de emisión).

This research is an analysis of the script of the documentary Azorín: the image and the word realized by provincial council of Alicante, which it tries to know the life of Martínez Ruiz and how this is reflected in the film. For that, the work of the screenwriter, Ramón E. Cánovas, is studied to know the creation process of the script. And other aspect had been selected too, like the structure and the narrator. On the other hand, the work of director is investigated with the objective of knowing the process about the direction of the documentary. Finally, the visualization of the tasks of both, screenwriter and director has been analysed in the documentary. In order to contextualize the research, some concepts related to the documentary have been distinguished as the genre or format. In addition, genre classification is included as well as the different phases of realization. Azorín: the image and the word is a cultural informative documentary that tries to recover the memory of one of the creators the Generation of the 98 and to promulgate his work between the general public. Along the work, this research is focused on Azorín’s journalism career. José Martínez Ruiz is a one of the most important journalist of the 20th century. His careful prose and descriptive style made of him a valuable writer in the most important newspapers. For this reason, this research analyse is focus on both: the documentary script and the audiovisual work, taking as examples fragments of it, as in the film about the most important moments about his career as journalist. The choice of this documentary, Azorín: the image and the word, is due to the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of his death and the current information that is represented. The Autonomic Parliament – Corts Valencianes – have decelerated 2017 as “Azorín Year” and the provincial council of Alicante therefore carries out a lot of activities in honour of the figure of Martínez Ruiz along the entire province. Part of these activities are the diffusion of 4000 DVDs in schools as well as the screening in the Spanish TV Show “Imprescindibles”, in La 2 of Spanish TV (pending launch date).
