The following work analyzes the sexual censorship carried out in the most used
social networks at present, focusing on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr; The analysis
takes into account the less censorship of Twitter and Tumblr, compared to the secrecy to
which submit social networks of Facebook and Instagram. Therefore, the fi rst step will
be to analyze the different policies of these four networks. It has been considered
opportune to focus only on these social networks being the most used, both by a young or adolescent as an adult, and for being a clear example of the differen
t degrees of
censorship that can be found on the Internet.
The central objective of this analysis is to look for the different censures carried out by
these networks, focusing on the female body and the relationship between the current
uncovering of the f emale body and the feminist movement. At this point, movements such
as the so so-called "Free the nipple" will be discussed, seeking a fairness in the nets when it
comes to publishing female nipples, since the female body is censored more quickly in
the nets than the male body.
It also seeks to show the different degrees of sexual censorship used by social networks
since, as mentioned earlier, Instagram and Facebook do not apply the same censorship as
Twitter and Tumblr. Lastly, an attempt will be made to dr aw a line on what should be the
limit when it comes to publishing sexual content on the Internet and how censorship
control should be applied to the networks. This is largely motivated by accounts of high
sexual content that are not censored by these socia l networks by not directly showing
certain parts of the human body, compared to other works with an artistic purpose that are
censored by showing breasts or genitals.
