In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of associations of people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) where Mutual Aid Groups are held for relatives of those affected, taking them into account as an important factor in the recovery process of people who suffer from this disorder and because of the great impact that the presence of mental health problems may have on the family. The present investigation consists of a transversal descriptive design, which studies various variables of the mental health of the relatives of patients with OCD, as well as their perception of their immediate surroundings. The study subjects are non-clinical population, attending the new Mutual Assistance Group for relatives of people affected by TOC, organized by TOC Levante (Alicante). The results that affect the main difficulty in this population are in relation to the perception of the immediate environment (family dysfunction and perceived social support as deficient), as well as the presence of anxiety-depressive symptoms and low self-esteem. Anxious-depressive symptomatology has a relevant influence on the general health variable of the sample. All these variables can become maintenance factors of each other by the way they correlate. Therefore, going to an external resource such as GAM can result in an improvement in these variables, which means a progressive improvement in the perception of their environment and mental health in general.
